So i must be the only person in the world who does not have or has not used Twitter. Is it me or does it seem like a new social networking site pops up every year? Twitter is a ”is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users’ updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length which are displayed on the user’s profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them (known as followers).”  What’s worse is thattwitter_dead Facebook changed it’s look, to give that “twitter-look” when you log in. I really do not see the point of  this. Do people really give a rat’s tail about what you are doing or thinking every minute? But i guess people update their status and do not care if people comment or not, maybe as a way to be boastful or showoff. It tells the other people in cyberspace that you are in their presence.  This article pretty much sums ups what the site is about. Narcissism and stalking could have not gotten any better. Thanks Twitter!

Lady lives with 130 cats….

April 9, 2009 - Leave a Response

So this old woman in Siberia, Russia lives with 130 cats, maybe even more. These cats are just strays and she just gives them a place to live…keeping them crammed in her tiny apartment. How does anyone do that? Aren’t there laws on how many pets a tenant can own in their apartment? That’s a whole lot of poop to clean. But I guess it’s a good thing that she’s taking them in to take care of them. Just look at how they all jump when she brings in the catfood. She also has some kind of a resemblance to the Crazy Cat Lady from the Simpsons:

What do you think?

Single Ladies African Remix

April 9, 2009 - Leave a Response

Since Beyonce’s Single Ladies music came out it was a huge hit nd played everywhere. But there was one thing that stood out from the music video and that was the choreography. The music video was pretty simple; black and white with Beyonce and two back up dancers in leotards and high heels. It kind of reminded me of those old GAP commercials.

But I guess the director wanted to keep it simple so the choreography (supposedly done all in one take) could stand out. And it worked as you would now see female (and males) Youtubers posting up their own vids trying to mimic the choreography. There have also been remixes and I picked this because I found this  funny, they made a storyline, it had good editing and they actually rap and danced.

Deception?

April 8, 2009 - Leave a Response

If you’re into conspiracy theories (I’m honestly not into it), then check out this “documentary” film called the Obama Deception. It’s talks about how Obama is no different then Bush; working for the same elite interest that Bush served. They’re saying he’s already broke some promises, and is engineering to make a big financial collapse  and a formation of a dictatorial world government.

I have heard about those  theories and it has been spreading around. My honest thoughts? I’ll believe it when it happens or start to see the signs. this must be some kind of scare tactic or something. I’m honestly to lazy to watch the vid.

Do It Yourself

Now with the click of a mouse you could find users that made videos to show how to do things yourself, such as cooking or building/making things. there are also vids on how to build your own weapons, such as a stun gun with a disposable camera:

I’m actually tempted to go out and make one myself. But i think videos like these help if you want to learn how to cook something.

Fred…

This guy is pretty very popular on Youtube and has more then 100, 000 people checking out his vids. His videos usually have him talking about his family and how he hates them. I do not see why he’s that popular. All he uses is the Chipmunk voice. You would think that people would really get tired of the voice after watching it for a while.

America Jr.

America Jr.

1. A country north of the United States, A.K.A., Canada.

Homer Simpson (in reference to visiting Canada): Why would I want to leave America just to see America Jr.?

So as most people know Canadians are seen a very nice, patriotic people. There are some similarities between the U.S. and Canada. Have the same style; wear the same clothes, listen to almost the same music and so on.

We are the largest consumers of US pop culture from the United States, greater then the other countries. It is most likely beamericashatcause we are so close to each other. But we have different values, ethics and morals.

For example, the United States does seem to have a very violent culture, not saying that we never had a violent culture. Before Canada eliminated the death penalty for murder on July 14, 1976, 1,481 people were sentenced to death, with 710 executed. Of those executed, 697 were men and 13 were women. The last execution in Canada was on December 11, 1962. While the United States still have their death penalties and the overall amount of executions can not be found.

Performing for the masses

April 8, 2009 - Leave a Response

When people make their Youtube accounts they are able to upload videos. Most people make their own videos featuring themselves. They are the star of their video; performing themselves instead of being the audience. Their performance shows their individualism. There is low resolution in popular culture (like the video posted) and there is high definition. Low resolution doesn’t only mean the quality of the video but high resolution could also mean the detail of the video.

“Don’t tase me bro!”

University of Florida student Andrew Meyer is Tasered and arrested after causing a disturbance at a town hall forum, which featured Senator John Kerry, at the UF Auditorium on Sept. 17, 2007.

Longer version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7Qef8oPmag

When I saw this video I thought that it was pretty bad, seeing as how the security didn’t even let him finish his question. It seems like they were trying to stop him from asking a certain question. Then a few minutes later I started to laugh when he got tasered and this didn’t even make the situation better (for him):

I really couldn’t stop laughing after watching the MC Hammer remix above. Although I do find it weird how he didn’t bother to sue. It’s America right?

Chewbacca?

April 8, 2009 - Leave a Response

When I first watched the video, I thought it was just the person making the noise as he opened the nightstand or he just used a video editing software and put the voice in there. I thought it was pretty weird and cool at the same time. I guess this just goes to show something so simple could gain lots of views/hits on YouTube.
